As a result of new job scenarios, societal circumstances, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and emerging technologies, the world is changing quickly. Today's students need to acquire competencies that will outlive shifting circumstances, in addition to a broad range of academic knowledge and skills. As one of the best international schools in Goa, we aim to provide learners with the fundamental life skills they'll need to succeed in the real world.
The Gera School enables a culture of learning where there is both integration and application of concepts, enabling students to realize the value and use of what they learn. It follows the Cambridge curriculum, starting with The Early Years where we begin the fostering of an innovative and engaging learning atmosphere for learning for both staff and student. We spend a lot of time and effort educating the instructors so that, being enlightened, they are able to convert information to knowledge and extract wisdom from knowledge.
As one of the select few Cambridge-accredited schools in Goa, we believe education should be more holistic than just academic. In addition to the structured academic curriculum, we encourage our students to pursue their interests and invest in individual growth, taking their learning beyond that from textbooks. This leads to a wholesome, enjoyable and extended learning experience.
Every child is led towards self-actualisation with a variety of challenging but enjoyable learning experiences in and out of the classroom. We combine the rich Cambridge curriculum framework with a practical and hands-on programme (with differentiation for students) that enables them to take ownership and responsibility for their class-work, home-work and assessments which are periodically conducted as part of our ‘Checking for Understanding’ philosophy at TGS.
NURSERY TO UPPER K.G. (AGES 3 TO 5 YEARS)
Transitioning children from pre-schools to the Primary and then the High school environment is a seamless process for us at TGS as we specialize in “settling” these young ones into the world of formal school education with comfort and ease. The curriculum in the Early Years, therefore, is to focus on an inquiry-based learning methodology enriched and guided by Cambridge Early years learning objectives. These initial years must be nurtured with care and precision to make it a strong foundation for the Primary Years and we at TGS recognize its importance and significance. We therefore, prepare our little ones with a broad yet focussed Programme that enriches and prepares them for the years ahead.
